   This reminded me of something I still think.

   There was a day at work where I had messed up badly. An escalation had happened, my manager called me. Am preparing myself to listen and get scolded. But, instead of blaming me, my previous manager quietly asked….

   Are you really okay? How is everything going on in your personal life, your health? I know you. You are not the kind of person who would miss something like this. If you are struggling, just take a break.

   No lecture. No consequences. Just…. are you okay? With genuine concern.

   I understood in that moment how rare that was. Someone who saw the person before they saw the mistake.

   Everyone is carrying a burden. My ex manager just chose to ask about mine instead of adding to it.
