As we get older and on our feet, we want to give our parents everything:
- Money
- Nicer clothes
- That international vacation
However, none of that is what they truly need.
What they truly need is our time.
That we sit with them and listen to them.
Listen about what’s going on in their lives.
Be interested in them.
Let them feel heard.
Let them know they matter.
As we make more money, the most important thing we could give to our parents is something no money could buy: our presence.
