hey Ankur, thank you once again… yes the attitude and mentality of people are very disabled…or else india would have been much much humane place to live in…i am not complaining though.. i have stopped giving paisa/money to the beggers..must share an incident…when i had just landed in delhi long time ago, i was stunned by the number of beggers here coz in sikkim there r none…felt sorry for them and used to give them money…one fine time when i was helping one of my friend who was making a documentary flim regarding “higra”, had to visit one of the slum area…by the way its more difficult to enter the slum area than rastrapati bhavan, believe me…ah yes, there was this guy wearing ray ban shades, driving honda city and i was told he was the ‘dalal’ for all the beggers in that area…all the days earning goes to him and the kids or beggars would get eat or sleep according to the earnings…i was shocked and all the while i was thinking what i gave them would actually be their earning…after the reality hit, i have stopped the paisa daan and would prefer to feed them instead….
Totally agree Yang. I, as a policy, only give alms to old beggars…if at all I do feel like giving..! This video highlights a very important fact…which mostly goes unnoticed…! There ARE a lot of people in this world who have worked their way through a lot of adversities…when they could have easily done what most others are doing…!
very very true…
I am sure Steph will have a hard time with seeing all the beggars. She is very emotional, so it will be interesting to see exactly how she reacts.
i always wonder how non-indians feel towards beggers…and the filth…! so yah…i too will be watching to see how she reacts
