Seth Godin (who aptly has the words GOD in his lastname) wrote this 8 years back…and reposted on his blog today. Brilliant piece. If there was ever a sermon I had to deliver (much to the agony of people around me), I would simply read this out!

“…Do you work with people who are still in high school? Job seekers only willing to interview with the folks who come on campus? Executives who are trying to make their boss happy above all else? It’s pretty clear that the thing that’s wrong with this system is high school, not the rest of the world.

Cut class. Take a seminar on french literature. Interview off campus. Safe is risky…”

    Hi Ankur,
    Am Kapil ,ISB aspirant.
    Have got two continuous rejects from ISB one in R2 last year post interview and another R1 this year even without interview.
    ISB is my dream .
    Would request you to please provide me guidance for the class of 2013 R1.
    Waiting to hear from you and I strongly believe that you would be able to help me out to achieve my dream.

    Hi Kapil,

    Did the school give you reasons for rejection. Iam planning to apply for ISB but am scared as i dont have decent percentage in my grade 12. So iam curious to know if they gave you any reason for rejection.

    Ankur,

    You should also do a post on why people should not join ISB, or rather do an MBA. I have seen a lot of people pursue MBA for the wrong reasons, most don’t even need it.

    I have received invitation for Campus Interview R2 the coming Monday. Since I am applying in R2, could you please tell me what things I should particularly take care of in order to increase my chances for the selection in ISB. Thanks.
