1. I really like the sleek look. Wasnt a big fan of the curved backside of the current iPhones, so this flat slim body for me works awesome. View the video above to learn more about they got all of what they have, in this size. Remarkable

2. FaceTime – the chatting facility, has been a little overplayed, given that its been around for a while now. But then, I think its more about quicker adoption through the iPhone. Just like the analysis that suggested that after the launch of the iPhone 3GS, the number of uploads to YouTube through phones, increased. People were still shooting videos through their phone, but the 3GS just made it easier to adopt!

3. The Retina feature seems awesome. Honestly, will have to see it to beleive it, but if it really works as sharp as suggested, this is great stuff.

4. Multitasking raises questions on the already quite bad battery power of the iPhone. I hope the bigger battery size takes care of it, but thats a big pain area for me currently and its unfortunate that the previous models will have to bear the brunt without enjoying multitasking to the hilt.

At first glance, I LOVE THE PHONE! This also makes me wanna buy the next gen iPad, whenever it will be released! Am sure all this technology is going beyond the iPhone right now, in the Apple chambers!

Lesson of the day – You aren’t given opportunity, You fight for it!

Or in other words…a tutorial on how not to spoil a classic by getting crass non-achievers, giving them more air-time than they ever got in their lifetime, and trying too hard to show that we have progressed!

Music sucks (what is it…an electronic house remix?)…the choice of individuals suck (sportspeople?? business guys??? the common man??) and its way too long to generate anything except revenue for the broadcaster!

Pretty Interesting…! But then…will only work once…you cant create businesses out of it…!

I have realized, that customers are (much) smarter than you think they are…(or you would want them to be!)! And that creates an impact…a big one…on businesses…especially the ones in the repeat business segment (almost everyone).

These guys can clearly not do a business of buying bicycles cheap and selling them for a profit creatively! Once…it works…twice rarely will. 

So value has to be created and it mostly always has to be either tangible or quantifiable. Cost and convenience are the biggest value creators…hands down. And the hardest to create…!

TAC (Transport Accident Commission) started a campaign 20 years back targetted at Victoria (Australia) residents to shock them on the dangers on drinking and driving!

Not that we didn’t know it…but its fascinating…and equally scary…to see how much of data has google stored through that one single username password of yours..! Gmail, Orkut, Reader, Search, Youtube, Alerts, GTalk…we dont realize how much of time we spend on Google products everyday and how all of those actions are being stored

Google released its DashBoard feature this week, which helps users with Google accounts to shit in their pants looking at the amount of information that lies with the company.

For starters, I have:

• over 18,000 received emails,
• over 7,000 sent mails and
• over 5,o00 chat conversations

saved in my GMail account!!! Holy friggin shit…!

And oh…in the month of October, i executed more than 10,700 google search queries…ALL of which are stored…!

It is scary…and also jaw-dropping…to realize that a single entity knows so much about possibly every young individual in this world!! EVERYTHING!

I have hated advertisers for the longest time ever…partly because I think they do a good job…and partly because they don’t (mostly) know when to stop! While the other has been (somewhat) taken care of by the “Do Not Disturb” act…its the first one that I speak about today.

You will rarely find people with a science (education) background in advertising. Before you jump onto why, I think the rationale is more fundamental (and nothing at all to do with capability, as you might have imagined!). The 2 fields are opposite to each other, in principle.

Science, as a concept, relies on the real world. Its premise is that value can only be created by ‘creating’ something. Actually building it. Something that requires raw materials, labor, operations etc.

Advertising on the other hand, relies on perception value. Its premise is that value can be created by simply altering perception. You can actually create something out of nothing.

And there is no better explanation for this statement, than the video below. Absolutely Brilliant!

Naturally…its a great Diwali for India…now that even Obama has formally wished us and the White House has posted the same on its YouTube Channel…! And true to our style (not to mention my last post), the video is all over FB and Twitter and Google…!!

India finally can celebrate Diwali

Flashback 2003! A concept named Gmail had launched and I was a strong Hotmail follower back then. But then, remember that those were days when there was no facebook, orkut, twitter and Mark Zuckerberg was still under-age (almost)!

So moving email addresses was no big deal. It just meant an auto forward and it wasnt that I had some 1,000 friends that I had to update on my email change!

So I moved…to GMail (thank god for that!). And within some 3-4 months of use…I noticed something. There were some 4 free invites in my accounts, for the service (it was, for the longest time ever, an invitation-only service!)

As a kind gesture, I sent one to a friend of mine at MSU, only to be told later that he has auctioned that invite for a crazy USD 80!! on ebay!! holy friggin shit…!

Well…I am still friends with that guy (infact I gave him another invite…after what he did…what was I thinking!) and auctioned one more for 45 dollars myself! :)

And today…I smile and see the same happening to Google Wave – its up for sale on ebay! :)
